Vacation region Lake Constance

Whether winter, spring, summer or autumn - the Lake Constance region is ideal for vacations all year round.

Spring - Spring begins picturesquely at Lake Constance, when nature slowly awakens again from its winter sleep and the blossoming season with all its splendor extends over the mountains and valleys of our region.
Leave the winter behind and recharge your batteries on one of the many cycling or hiking trails, enjoy a cappuccino in the first warm rays of the sun,
directly on the Lake Constance promenade or let yourself be enchanted by a sea of blossoms on the UNESCO world heritage island of Raichenau.

Summer - vacation time. This is the main tourist season in the Lake Constance region. The sun is shining, a warm wind is blowing, white sailboats and passenger ships float
over the blue waters of the lake, a cheerful mood is in the air and the lidos invite you to cool off. Open air concerts and open air theaters invite you to
invite you to musical entertainment. Rent a boat and spend a day on the lake. Enjoy a plate of antipasti on the terrace of your favorite Italian restaurant,
in the still warm evening hours, overlooking Lake Constance.
Sample fresh fruits and vegetables straight from the local farm. Marvel at the Rhine Falls as the largest waterfall in Europe,
paddle a canoe along the shore of Lake Constance or enjoy a cool drink in a shady spot at the lido. Visit the Bregenz Festival
the cultural festival or let the evening end with the fireworks of the Seehasenfest. Summertime offers almost countless opportunities to explore the region.

Autumn - It is considered by many to be the most beautiful season in the region. The low sun bathes fields, meadows and gardens in a golden light,
the scent of ripe apples is in the air, fog rises silently over the fields and the colors orange, yellow and red dominate the unique Lake Constance landscape in a new guise.
This time of year is perfect to explore the many museums and cultural institutions at Lake Constance, take advantage of the pleasant temperatures for a challenging bike ride or hike,
visit a wine festival and taste a delicious wine from the region, take a trip back in time and discover a castle from long ago or
treat yourself to something very special with a zeppelin flight over the enchanting Lake Constance landscape.

Winter - A magic lies over the Lake Constance landscape, in a wintery garb. Winter immerses the region in a fairy-tale atmosphere and invites you to relax and recharge your batteries.
Romantic boat trips on the wintry Lake Constance, relaxing hours in one of the many Lake Constance spas,
Skiing and snowboarding in the nearby ski resorts, a hot mulled wine at an enchanted Christmas market or toboggan runs and winter hiking trails that are just waiting to be discovered by you.

Activities

Mainau: The flower island in Lake Constance

Mainau Island is definitely a must-see on Lake Constance. The large park is one of the most beautiful in Europe and is worth a visit at any time of the year. In March and April, hundreds of thousands of tulips bloom along the spring avenue, followed by roses in summer and in autumn you can help the most beautiful dahlia to the title of queen. Also with children or dog the Mainau is super suitable as an excursion destination.

Mainau Island - an island for the whole family

Mainau Island is the ideal place to pause and relax in nature. In addition to nature and garden enthusiasts and those seeking relaxation, many families also come to the island. Children can play and let off steam in Mainau-Kinderland, which includes the adventure playgrounds "Zwergendorf," "Wasserwelt" and "Blumis Uferwelt" with slides, swings, a climbing course, sandboxes with excavators, water areas, trucks with trailers, tricycles and much more. At least as popular is the farm with petting zoo, pony rides and flower animals. The insect garden right next door provides playful information about the pollination services of wild and honey bees. Furthermore, handcarts for families are available free of charge at the entrance to the island and at the harbor. The trolleys are only available during the flower year and cannot be reserved in advance.

A highlight of the Mainau day is certainly a visit to the second largest butterfly house in Germany.
